  1. Thanks again Tim! Great Job!!

  2. Great job Eschdaddy! It is a good look into each of these marketplaces and what to expect when dealing with each one.

  3. Great job Rick! It was definitely not something I previously thought about at all before, thanks for educating me in what can be done.

  4. Sorry about that, photos should be showing now!

  5. Great Job Talon, it’s really a great article for many of us to learn from. I don’t think everyone know this issue exists out there and it will help them be smarter buyers.

  6. Thanks for putting these articles together guys. Great job!

  7. Wow….Didn’t even realize that these articles were put up. I only noticed because I noted a pretty substantial jump in my BrickPoints. Nice job on your article, Darth Lego!

  8. Great summary Veegs, I really enjoyed putting this one together. I always learn more about the sets when posting these articles and like Ed said in his summary, I also never paid much attention to these sets even though they look fun and happy. I think they will catch my attention a little more moving forward.

  9. Strytlr, great job on this blog article. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I know its a topic that people know about, but don’t know +/- or opportunities with parting out. It’s a lot of work though and not for me 🙂

I look forward to reading and posting future article from you!

  10. I sure hope you started yelling “BRICKPICKER.COM” every few minutes as you walked through 🙂

It looked like a very nice setup.  Thanks for sharing the experience.

Also, did you see LegoPodcaster there, I believe he did one of those Kickstarter programs to give him money to go there and cover the event.

  11. All I can say is that she gets it now.  She used to think Ed was nuts and I was possibly wasting my time. She has always been positive, but like many people think a website will have millions of visitors in 2 weeks 🙂

As time went on and she saw the site growing in popularity and then the USA Today article, well that sealed the deal. She really did see how many people are into this. Like I said, she was always supportive, but it needed that one last thing to “click” for it to all come together.

Now she is like others where she notices the LEGO logo much more, stops to look, calls me to ask if something is a good deal.  It’s a lot more fun.

  12. Nice job Blackjack.  Great photos!

  13. Great job on this.  I was just telling Ed about some of these sets yesterday when I looked at it.  I am not shocked about that Chima set, that’s for sure.

  14. If you read Ed’s post, I believe he covers your question:

The posted LEGO sets can vary from time to time because of availability, so I cannot promise exactly what is posted, but replacement LEGO sets will be of similar cost, size and makeup. LEGO Gift Cards can be substituted in some instances.

  15. The BrickPoints system is a very nice feature, good job on it.

I have to ask if it applies worlwide, mostly because of shipping considerations

Yes, Ed and I are aware of it.  But it is 100% global.  Whatever works out best we will get you the set, or gift card or something.

  16. Just a quick note, for those of you that are adding the Falcon to the shopping cart and checking out, it’s not going to work.  I will just be deleting the orders.  We are purposely leaving it as a manual process so that we can communicate with your during the transaction.  So please don’t submit the order until you get 1,000,000 points 🙂

    Thanks!

  17. All I really want is a Brickpicker t-shirt (XL)… I’m totally honest.

Same here. That would be awesome! Like an all black shirt with the BrickPicker logo across the chest, and on the back say something like “Member: Comicblast”, and a list of your awards or something like that.

  18. Great job on the review.  I love that figure.  He should be included in all sets just the heck of it.  Even Friends sets 🙂

  19. Here is a nice deal on eBay, $168, free shipping

LEGO Monster Fighters Haunted House Play Set

  20.

But I do wonder: why use other prices than those at which was bought and sold through Bricklink? That’s the more liquid platform of professional and informed investors/Afols. Ebay & Amazon prices? …a mirage.

Please readers of this website. Take your precautions…

What are you basing your facts on?  I can show you plenty of examples of bad pricing on Bricklink. Your comment is pure speculation and has no concrete evidence to back that up.  eBay by far is a much larger marketplace than Bricklink.  There is nothing wrong with using information from both marketplaces to make decisions about your purchases or sales.

  21. Great article!

  22. Oldlego doesn’t look worth the time. Site doesn’t get much traffic at all and LEGO will probably ask them to shut their site down or change their name at some point since they are totally violating LEGO’s rules.
